All Politics is Local

I couldn’t have said it better than Christie Carden, TPP AL State Coordinator, so I won’t.  Please read.

Leverage your power locally to change your party.

“All Politics is Local” by Capitol Confidential at biggovernment.com

TEA Parties nation-wide have found that calling, writing, and showing up in person in D.C. has the same impact as a hiccup in a hurricane. After turning out thousands of citizens at rallies, overwhelming the Senate phone lines and crashing Congress’ e-mail system, our elected representatives are poised to enact the greatest expansion of government in history. The TEA Parties followed the direction of national organizations and associations. They answered the call, but were sent over the trench-line without an actual plan or support. (See, for example, Somme, Battle of) It is time for the TEA Party movement to turn inward. In the words of the age-old adage, “ All politics is local “.

Stories like the ACORN tapes have massive national legs, yet they do not destroy the local farm team of tax-and-spend big government. Fighting for Liberty and the ability to live the American dream requires getting your hands dirty far closer to home.

For the TEA party and 9-12 groups to become effective, they must evolve again, and this time the Gadsden Flag will be a marker laid down to far more personal targets. People find the mundane of daily life and local news forgettable, yet this is how the TEA party can enact meaningful change.

To end the progression of large intrusive government and the progressive agenda, the TEA party must neuter the left’s farm team. City Council, County Board, Park Districts, and School Boards may not have the flash of State Representatives, State Senators or their federal partners, but, they are, indeed, perhaps more the important .

The progressives and Big Government-types have entrenched themselves into local power bases. They have expanded the role of government from the garbage man to the kindergarten teacher. They are taking us over from within, yet we can push back.

Until the last year, our side has been busy with our personal and professional lives. We have looked past machine politics and the local aspects of our lives. We have ignored the corruption in our hometowns. We have chosen to overlook the police state that has grown. We have chosen to allow the nanny state to encroach on smoking in taverns or trans-fat in our doughnuts, to name just two recent examples. We have allowed an extra $.05 sales tax for “insert public good here” after another, without protest or outrage.

In our slumber, we have allowed our liberties to be encroached. We have allowed the will of the State to be imposed on us. In places like Missouri, we have allowed no more than 30 hardened progressives to dictate the tempo of the debate. (Fortunately, we do know who you are and will be outing you here.) We have allowed this to happen because we have not paid attention to the minor league ball game.

We choose instead to protest in Washington, D.C. We chose to show outrage to the political class that is not listening. They won’t listen; they do not have to . They have showered their districts in pork and bribed us with our own money. They can freely come back home from the Beltway bubble to their local farm team and act like they conquered Gaul.

A local mayor and a rogue’s gallery of other officials will hold a press conference with the Representative or Senator and the lamestream media will re-broadcast their talking points. These local co-conspirators will treat the federal officials as Caesar, yet the arch they march through is a fake. These people have only accomplished one thing; they have retained power. They hold power by controlling the means of political production. They control us by controlling our cities, counties, parks, and schools. They have turned us into a class of serfs begging for scraps from the table that we fill. (That’s actually unfair to serfs. In Medieval times, serfs only had to hand over 1/3 of their income to the feudal lords. Add up federal, state and local tax levies, we may much more than serfs ever paid. So, what does that make us?)

Now is the time for the TEA party to show it’s real colors and longevity. Now it is time for us to stop the rallies and start the process of running for election and holding our current officials directly accountable. Now is the time for the plumber, the electrician, and the Joe Six-pack American to end this madness.

No more will we go quietly into that long night. Now, we must fight. We must take back the system and make our elected officials fear “we the people”. This is the battle our forefathers saw many years ago.

This is the time for the Tea Party to seize the day and make a difference. Which party you decide to run on doesn’t matter. Republican or Democrat matters little, as the national leaders of both have lost touch. What matters is we destroy the go-along-to-get-along farm team. It also matters that we pick a party…the Republicans and Democrats have together gamed the system against third parties. Creating a TEA Party isn’t a serious solution. Leverage your power locally to change your party.

Make a pledge to not vote to tax and spend the people’s money. Make a pledge to quit after “x” amounts of terms in office. The people are waiting for a leader; they are waiting for a Captain. Be that Captain. March to the sound of the guns, and seize the day.

With TEA party people in every position of government, the political class in Washington will listen. They will no longer have the political cover of pork-hungry Mayors doing tricks for the political elite. There will no longer be days of staffers blowing people off to vote for their party line.

A carpet-layer has more experience to lead than any political hack. An insurance man has more ability to look at regulations than a risk-adverse lawyer. A veteran has more understanding of what it takes to support our men and women in harms way.

It is time to break the mold of what looks good to get elected. Now is the time to become involved. Now is the time to hear the sounds of battle and join. The Government teat must be turned off. The system needs to be rebooted.

Help start the process and run for office. The great sleeper that is America has woken up. 2010 is not the end game, neither is 2012. The end game is when we level the playing field and make America once again the land of opportunity.

Fly that Gadsden flag high and fly it proud. But, that isn’t enough. It is time to leave your fields and join the battle. March to the sound of the guns.

Is the GOP Listening Now?

Two new vids put out by GOP.com that are short and beautiful—two qualities good informational media should have, and two qualities which are utterly lacking in most informational media today.  (Hat tip to Bernie at Conservatives Defending Liberty)  These videos are reasonable by virtue of being factual—they describe actual events and the people involved.  There is a bullying spirit behind these shenanigans, it is becoming ever more pervasive, and We the People shouldn’t stand for it.

Dr. Larry Arnn, President of Hilldale College, puts it this way:

[These principles] represent a return to the idea that the American Revolution repudiated—the idea that some are equipped by nature or training to manage the lives of others without their consent…  [Obama] has no desire to own the automobile companies {and other industries – getdclu}.  Instead, he wants to control them—and the rest of us as well—through a regulatory apparatus overseen by czars and bureaucrats…  Rather than looking on us as equal beings with a set nature {as determined in the Declaration}—such that none of us should rule another in the wat that God rules man or man rules beast—our political leaders today have been taught to see us as material to be shaped and perfected by experts who have the proper technical training.

It has been close to 100 years now that the majority of people teaching in American colleges and universities have agreed with Woodrow Wilson, one of the founders of the Progressive movement… that the Declaration of Independence is obsolete, and that we need to liberate the Constitution from the Declaration’s restraints.  This liberation leads to the idea of a “living Constitution,” characterized by constant change or progress…  Absolute truth {obstructs that} which is why… Obama refers to is as tyrannical.  {Can you believe that?  Absolute truth, like God’s truth, is tyrannical!}  But if change… is the rule, who is to determine what version of change or progress is good?  …[O]nce you deny the existence of absolute truth, the definition of “good” becomes subjective and the only standard of behavior is what we want—”we,” in the political sense, meaning the government…  It reduces politics not to right, but to force. {emphasis mine}  That is why there is a bullying spirit about our government today and why so many Americans are worried.

It is time for that to stop.

His two suggestions:

  1. For the ordinary folk of the US to see that this is despotism, and to rise up and repudiate it.
There are several Conservative organizations, but my suggestion is to check out The Patriot Caucus as well as the GOP.
  2. Though longer-term, also as vital: replace leaders with gov’t educations with those who;ve had homeschool &/or good educations from librty-loving post-graduate colleges.
Remember, we have to vote out all non-conservative incumbants!

CBO: Insurance Proposal Would Effectively Nationalize Private Insurance

December 17, 2009
by John Goodman

A Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) is the percentage of premium dollars an insurer spends on claims as opposed to administrative costs and other expenses. According to news reports, a proposal from Senator Rockefeller and others would limit MLRs to 90%. The Reid bill already requires insurers to issue rebates to enrollees on a pro rata basis if its medical loss ratio falls below 80% or lower for the individual and small-group markets or 85% or lower for the large-group market.

However, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) says that a 90% MLR would expand “the federal government’s regulatory role in the health insurance market so much that it would make such insurance an essentially governmental program, so that all transactions related to health insurance policies (even those with private companies) should be recorded as cash flows in the federal budget.”  A similar ruling helped kill Hillary Clinton’s health reform proposal 15 years ago.

Donald Marron, former Acting Director of CBO, explains the issue at his blog.

 Is This Fair?

Dec 17, 2009
by John Goodman

Health reform on Capitol Hill:

Focus on Jane, a primary breadwinner making $48,000 (in 2016) to support her family of four. If Jane is offered insurance by her employer that meets the test, she must accept it or pay a fine. That means Jane ends up paying for the entire cost of, say, a $14,100 policy, according to some economists. They say she pays the premiums out of pocket and the remainder indirectly because employers offer reduced paychecks to offset the cost of their share of health insurance.

Now, meet Julie, who also makes $48,000 and is not offered insurance at her job. Julie heads to the newly created exchange to purchase the same policy. But it costs her only $5,300. The rest – about $9,000 – comes from federal subsidies.

Fair?

How Much Does Insurance Really Cost?
Dec 16, 2009
by Greg Scandlen

CNNMoney reports on a recent study by eHealthinsurance.com that found:

Half of individual policyholders paid $132 or less per month… According to the report, in 2009 the median non-group health insurance premium for an individual in the United States was $1,584 per year ($132 per month) and the average deductible was $2,326. Combined, annual premiums and deductibles account for approximately 7.7 percent of median household income for 2008 ($50,303) as reported by the US Census Bureau.

Now, if individuals buying their own insurance got the same tax break as employees get for employer-provided coverage and if there were a back-up mechanism for high-risk applicants, we might dramatically reduce the numbers of uninsured without any individual mandate.Your new doctor?

Shut Down Senate Health Care

UPDATE 2:15 pm CST

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!  You received the alert below and took action.  You have completely overwhelmed the Senate switchboard.  I have received emails stating that calls to some of the Senators below were being re-directed to Sen. Reid’s office and other Senators in the Democratic leadership.  I have had reports that the voice mail boxes are full.  Some of you have stated that you received messages stating the calls could not go through.  Some have received a message asking you to put in the mailbox number or phone number.   The phone numbers we sent out were taken directly from the Senators web sites.

Keep up the great work!  You are making a difference in this battle!  I have included the phone numbers of the Senators district offices below.  Please call them as well… Let’s go get ’em !!!

From the Tea Party Patriots, Action Alert!

YOUR ACTION IS STRONGLY NEEDED TODAY

Dear Fellow Tea Party Patriots,

We are at a critical point in our fight against government run healthcare.

We need to have the same urgency and intensity level that we displayed at the Congressional Town Hall Meetings during the August recess. We must not diminish our fight to defeat the Senate healthcare bill. Many “Blue Dog” Democrats and some GOP Senators have stated that they don’t see the same intensity level opposing the Senate Healthcare bill that we displayed opposing the House version. They are beginning to believe that we do not strongly oppose the Senate Healthcare bill.  We need to let them know that is not true.

President Obama and the Senate Democratic leadership are pulling out all the stops to pass this Senate Healthcare bill. They are putting enormous pressure on the “Blue Dog” Democrat Senators to pass the bill.

We urgently need you to make phones today and tomorrow  to the Senators listed below. Please call their District Office and their D.C. office. Also, please continue to contact your Senator. Forward this to your email lists and ask them to make phone calls.

The latest Rasmussen Poll showed that 60% oppose this healthcare bill.

We need you to make phones calls to the Senators listed below.

Higher Speed Rail

President Obama confirmed his commitment to fund a High Speed Rail (HSR) program in the US for fiscal 2010 using stimulus money.  However, “[a]ccording to recent comments by the head of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), little of these federal monies may go toward “real” HSR but instead appear likely to benefit some of the nation’s for-profit freight railroads to achieve modestly higher speeds for existing, half-full Amtrak trains running on their tracks. Given the extreme need for federal budget deficit reduction, these HSR programs — in whatever form — should be eliminated in the FY 2010 budget, and the T&I plan should be vetoed if it ever gets to the President’s desk.”[1]  [emphasis mine and throughout]

“Real” High-Speed Rail

In pushing for their agenda, Obama and Congress engender images of high speed bullet trains transporting “intercity passengers in spacious and comfortable rail cars traveling between cities at speeds approaching 200 miles per hour (mph). Unfortunately for these HSR proponents, such a service is unlikely to ever be available in the U.S. because of the extraordinary costs and because government’s so-called HSR initiatives seem unlikely to provide much support for such projects.”

Such systems are very expensive to build and also to operate, because they require new, dedicated rail lines built to specific tolerances and levels of durability.  These levels exceed America’s existing roadbeds.  And because of this need, the new rail lines would also require the acquisition of significant volumes of land to create the new, secure, right-of-way in which to build the new roadbed.[2]  Most tracks today are unable to withstand the speed and pressure of actual HSR and would require complete replacement in order to be functional.  This is cost prohibitive.  Thus the stimulus money should be used elsewhere.

Reflective of the inability of America’s roadbeds to handle such speeds, Amtrak’s Acela can hit speeds of 150 mph but only on a 35-mile stretch of the Northeast Corridor.  Overall it averages just 80 mph between Washington, D.C., and New York City, largely because roadbed deficiencies and existing rail traffic congestion (due to multiple users) preclude such speeds on the rest of the Northeast Corridor.[3]

Ersatz High-Speed Rail, or “Higher Speed Rail”

Therefore, in lieu of High Speed Rail and in light of roadbed and speed problems, freight vs. passenger issues and highway lines vs. third rails, we have really only higher speed rail on the table.  But this would hardly lead to a difference of, say, even 40 miles an hour.  So the point is moot.  Thus the train hobbyists and environmentalists and all do-good Congressmen who want real HSR out there, yes, we’d all like that, but it’s not a reality in the USA without some major changes to the way we live and commute.  It would also take huge changes to the way the government spends money on roads and other infrastructure, because they would necessarily need to be decreased in order to increase spending on rail costs (even if it is up the middle of highways).

The rub is that the railroads seem very accepting of all this with no chagrin either way.  “Recent proposals to extend federal subsidies to the freight railroads stem from a 2007 report of a congressional commission that recommended that regular federal subsidies be provided to freight railroads.[4]  And as is apparent from statements by Obama’s pick to head the FRA, this seems to be the Administration’s intention.”

“In an interview in August, FRA Administrator Joseph Szabo indicated that some of the federal grants and much of the construction will be used to prepare freight lines for more and faster passenger trains. He further noted that while some fast passenger trains — in the range of 200 mph — will get their own dedicated rights of way, “in 90 percent of the cases or more, the host railroad will be the freight.”[5]

Fiscal Waste on the Fast Track

“…Of the $8 billion in the stimulus bill promised to HSR, the head of President Obama’s rail initiative suggests that only a fraction of the money will be devoted to such purposes, the rest [to be] used mostly for improvements to freight railroads that indirectly benefit Amtrak’s existing trains.  But regardless of which projects get the most money, neither is a productive use of taxpayer funds.  Fiscal conservatives should use the FY 2010 budget to eliminate these costly and ineffective commitments.”

My thoughts exactly.

No Mam for You!

The Government mammogram Nazi (think uber-evil and powerful Seinfeld Soup Nazi) has decided that “older” women over 40 (ahem!) with no history of breast cancer don’t deserve the lifesaving detection of a biennial mammogram scan and won’t pay for one until they are 50.  Besides the fact that this is utter rubbish, how would they know there was no history sans scan?

Considering I love all things that turn the tables back onto liberals (using their own playbook against them), here’s a great vid from Beck interviewing David Horowitz  discussing conservatives using Saul Alinsky tactics to get their message out:  Inverting the paradigm….doing what liberals do….Community Organizing. Mr. Horowitz calls for women to do what libs did during the Reagan years that so upset the White House then:  stage a “die in”.  All over the country, in public places (with proper signage of course and white chalk for outlines of the “bodies”), gather in large groups, lay down and become the dead from lack of mammograms.  David says Liberals will be as bewildered as to what to do as we were in the past.

OKAY LADIES… Let’s get our communities organized!  This is your call to arms — er, uh — backs?
Get with your like-minded friends, pick a mall or other hot spot with people (preferably a place where they’ll drag you out, but NOT to jail…do your research first) and go “die”!  Just like a Tea Party on the floors of America.  (Bring a stadium pillow or two and a towel for your clothing.)  Report back here and let us know when and where so we can join you!

“Full Protections of the US Legal System”

What the heck is going on here?  It’s as though I’m unable to awaken from the worst nightmare —in which the most vile creatures, criminals of the basest sort, have been elevated by dear leader to the level of US Citizen, with all the rights thereof.  THESE ARE NOT AMERICAN CITIZENS!!!  The unabashed temerity with which this administration flaunts its power is disgusting, and this act in particular is sacrilegious and an affront on decency.

WE the PEOPLE are being TERRORIZED!

The ancient Romans had different levels of society.  Paul (formerly Saul of Tarsus) of the Bible talks of his uniqueness in being a Roman citizen and therefore he must be tried dutifully and cannot be crucified like ordinary peasants.  The ancient levels of Patrician and Plebian have no place in American society; however Mr. Obama has deigned to reinstate  the idea of social nobility and elite citizen families by the ignorance of bowing to royalty—concepts the Founders were determined would have no place in the new United States.  For 230 years, each president has never bowed to recognize nobility, but merely shown respect with a handshake.  The important traditions of two and a quarter centuries are now for naught because the overgrown-new-kid-on-the-block (“ONKOB”)has chosen to toss them aside like yesterday’s used gum.  Gee, thanks.  We didn’t need those protocol people anyway, did we.

Just because a person is IN our country does not mean they receive the
rights, provisions or protections OF our country!

Who was the original liberal dingaling who spawned THAT idea, anyway?  He needs to be drawn and quartered.

The TERRORISTS —- that is, those hairy fellows who came into this country, stayed illegally, planned horrendous things and actually DID them to OVER 3,000 people in three different locations simultaneously (proving the planning part), who created great fear and trepidation (providing the terror part), who in turn created such huge pain for our country that, once the initial shock was over, brought our country closer together and focused us into solidarity against these jihadi killers!  Whatever happened to that, Mr. President?  All you are doing now is opening the original wounds, disgracing and demoralizing New Yorkers, and parading these SCUM around like they have ANYTHING worth showing off.  Bush was right to have them sentenced to death in military court, but Eric Holder put blockade after blockade in place to stop that, didn’t he?!!  Now you have your prize – and we have you.  Oh joy.

View this video and then write the Obamanation and your non-representing Representatives. (hat tip Atlas Shrugs)

But, you say, we are “not at war.”  Oh yes we are.  The Jihad war has begun in earnest, and along with the many thousands of terrorist attacks by Muslims recorded just since 9/11/2001, the other instruments, even more effective than those acts of terrorism, of Jihad include deployment of the Money Weapon (and the propaganda it can buy), campaigns of Da’wa, and demographic conquest.

In case you didn’t know, this is the terrible law this scum lives by and requires the rest of the world to uphold:

WHAT IS SHARIAH LAW?  (Atlas)

Understanding Shariah law is integral to understanding the dangers of Shariah-compliant finance. Shariah law is Islamic law dating back to the 7th century and is today the law of the land in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sudan and the law under which the Taliban operates.

Shariah law authorities, some of whom are now being paid handsomely by Barclays, Dow Jones, Standard & Poors, HSBC, Citibank, Merrill Lynch, Deutschebank, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, UBS, Credit Suisse and others have the power to dictate Shariah compliance as deemed by “scholarly consensus” on matters of finance, family, penal law, apostasy, and war.

Examples of authoritarian Shariah law include: requirement of women to obtain permission from husbands for daily freedoms; beating of disobedient woman and girls; execution of homosexuals; engagement of polygamy and forced child marriages; the testimony of four male witnesses to prove rape; honor killings of those, principally women, who have dishonored the family; death to apostate Muslims who chose to leave Islam; inferior status of non-Muslims, and capital punishment for those who “slander Islam.”

Obama’s home boys and propaganda machine (NBC) and recipient of Obama bucks is going Islam. Big time. Your stimulus taxpayer dollars at work.

Shariah Finance Watch writes, “GE’s involvement with promoting Shariah, the barbaric doctrine of the enemies that seek to replace capitalism, end free speech, eliminate rights for women and phase out self-determination, should come as no surprise given their shameful business partnership with the Jihadist regime in Iran, which ended only after media and shareholder scrutiny just resulted in too much heat for GE’s management.”

GE Capital plans $1 billion Islamic bond: report  (hat tip TC)

DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones) — General Electric Capital Corp. plans to sell up to $1 billion of Islamic bonds, or sukuk, as early as next week, a banker aware of the deal said Sunday.

[…]

Citigroup and Goldman Sachs were mandated as lead arrangers of the bond, he said.

Healthcare Update, Continuing Efforts

Free our healthcare now Update

[The National Center for Policy Analysis (www.ncpa.org) has a plethora of resources, but the healthcare issue is one of their strongest.  Please consider requesting their newsletter (this is a copy of an update) and  please also ponder equally how much your donation is needed at this time in the fight against government intrusion.]

Want to hear a little good news? Thanks to the efforts of Policy Patriots just like you, we’ve sent more than 210,000 letters to Congress in the last three weeks against government run health care. In this public policy war of attrition, a sustained campaign – in the form of hundreds of thousands of letters and a petition supported by 1.34 million Americans – is what will ultimately win the fight against government-run health care. Thanks for your continued support and let’s keep up the fight!

Poll Deaf. If you feel ignored by the House of Representatives, you’re not alone. A Rasmussen Reports poll this week reaffirmed that more Americans oppose (52%) health care legislation than favor (45%) it. Nevertheless, as last Saturday’s legislative spectacle attests, Speaker Pelosi is still singing the health care tune.

Go Directly to Jail.  As you know, in the 1,990-page bill that squeaked (220-215) out of the House on Saturday there’s plenty of bad policy to fill this letter (and several more). What you may not know is that failing to comply with the new requirements in this legislation could land you in jail – for up to five years!

The most appalling effect of the Affordable Health Care for America Act is the extent of control which the federal government would exercise over individual health care decisions. The legislation requires you to purchase health insurance, whether you need it or want it, and dictates the parameters of your policy. What’s more, failure to purchase insurance would result in a slew of fines and, as this letter from the Joint Committee on Taxation makes clear, failure to pay the fines would result in criminal penalties including “a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.”

AARP: Abandoning Seniors, Advancing AARP. In apparent disregard for the interests of senior citizens, the AARP supported the House health care bill, including the following provisions:

  • $500 billion in overall budget cuts for Medicare.
  • $170 billion in budget cuts for Medicare Advantage-the program’s entire budget-leaving 12 million American seniors with fewer health care options.
  • A 20% cut in doctor’s pay, forcing doctors to take on more patients and spend less time with each person in their care.

Why would the AARP endorse legislation which so clearly hurts the interests of senior citizens? You decide! For facts on how you will be affected by this legislation, click on this link to get the facts.

FIGHT BACK! The next stop on the runaway train known as ObamaCare is the floor of the United States Senate. Help us derail Ms. Pelosi’s health care legislation by writing your Senators. The American people deserve better than what’s coming down the tracks and you can help put a stop to it. Click on the link below and send a letter to Congress telling them to JUST SAY NO to health care legislation.

Obamacare Mob Rule

{Sound of hammer pounding nails into wood slowly, deliberately.  Freedom is Slavery
Night sounds in background.  Cue bad guy music…}

The sound you hear is our Constitution being buried in its coffin of tyranny and indifference.  Like awakening to a nightmare of life in Orwell’s 1984 or Huxley’s Brave New World, only unable to really wake up, such is the case with the horrific visions of waiting lines and drone-like people in gray clothing obediently taking their daily dose of numbing soma…

In The End of America, In the Middle of the Night, Adam Murdock, MD, asks:

Since when did the Constitution provide for a health care guarantee? Since when did the Constitution grant the Congress the power to force Americans into a health care dystopia? What good is a Constitution if we choose to ignore it? What good is a Constitution if the Congress simply chooses to create a new one in their own graven socialist image?

It surely is a sad state of affairs when the People speak loudly, clearly and resourceful, and those to whom the message is directed willfully disregard the information, the intent and those producing it.  It is WE who will surely pay for our non-representing Representatives’ decisions this weekend in regard to Healthcare.

lessons_great_depression_1

Universal Healthcare will takeover 1/6 (20%) of the US economy.
As we are already reeling from the unsustainable levels of government spending & debt and unemployment has reached at least 10% nationwide, the middle-class is going to be hardest hit.  The wealthier Americans will be able to pay any additional taxes required by new HC legislation and lower-income people won’t owe taxes or will receive subsidies, so we will be burdened with upholding the entire system!

Yet, the forgotten man will be the middle class working American who now already struggling against the burden of economic ruin will be forced to pay fines or even face possible jail time for not complying with our government’s take over of his/her health care. As this tax sinks in, the middle class will be forced downward into the ranks of the working poor and therefore into the ranks of government rationed medical care. Inevitably, government healthcare will swallow the whole of the medical insurance world and there will be no escape. (Murdock)

If this were any other country, the people would take to the streets with rocks, guns and anything else to signify their anger and disgust with the government.  There would be uprisings and broken windows and riots and tear gas and police barricades and everything else you see on TV about other countries’ political upheavals…

Oh, but this is America, the land of the somacose and the home of the bound!

What’s more despicable is a situation in which the whole of Republicanism SAVE ONE votes against this travesty.  Let’s turn now to Pamela Geller’s (Atlas Shrugged) ample description of this weekend’s malpractice of justice.  (All emphasis in red is mine.)

Under cover of darkness and treachery, a stunned and grieving nation, reeling from the largest terrorist attack on a military base in U.S. history, was victimized and terrorized again — but this time from a different enemy within, our elected officials. The snakes pulled a fast one on a Saturday night. Despite overwhelming and unprecedented opposition to nationalized obamacare (tea parties, town halls, 912 rallies, Bachmann’s call for action) the craven statists in the House of Representatives passed the homicidal healthcare resolution. One more shackle on our necks to enslave the individual.

Instead of passing emergency legislation to protect the American people (the only real purpose of the government) from the infiltration of jihadists in the crucial institutions of national security.

Whatever happens, remember that your elected officials whom you voted for, whom you stood behind, whom you trusted, stabbed you, your children, your country in the neck.

[…]

Ayn Rand wrote:  A “mixed economy” [socialism/capitalism] is a society in the process of committing suicide.

A nation cannot survive half-slave, half-free. Consider the condition of a nation in which every other social group becomes both the slave and the enslaved of every other group. Ask yourself how long such a condition can last and what its inevitable outcome will be.

Statism is a system of perpetual civil war. And that war in a “mixed economy” takes the form of “pressure group” warfare, each group fighting for legislation to extort its own advantage by force from all other groups.

STATISM is nothing more than gang rule.

Hell on Earth: Alinsky, Beck, Satan and Me, Part II « NewsReal Blog

by David Horowitz

hell

The left’s crusade to rid mankind of DDT, to liberate gays from “sex-negative culture,” to build a welfare utopia & their stranglehold on the public school system are examples of how radicals destroy the lives of millions in the name of their modern secular religion.

Excerpts

“Modern radicalism is a secular religion, and its hunger for meaning and hope and change cannot be satisfied by anything less than grandiose, totalizing schemes to transform the world. To bring up their failures, the enormities they are guilty of, the crimes committed in the name of their religion, is to strike a blow at hope itself, which is why they cannot and will not hear it.”

[…]

“Not every progressive hell is a genocide, but many come close. The crusade to rid mankind of the scourge of DDT launched by the American environmentalist Rachel Carson wound up killing 100 million childrenmainly black Africans under the age of 5 — between 1975 and the present, and the killing is still going on. The crusade of the left to liberate gays from a “sex-negative culture” destroyed the public health system’s ability to control domestic epidemics and led to the deaths of more than 300,000 gay men in the prime of life.

The left’s crusade to build a welfare utopia destroyed the inner-city black family, spawned tens of millions of fatherless black children, and created a mass intractable and violent underclass which is still with us and growing today.

The leftist monopoly of the public school system in America’s major cities is daily destroying the lives of millions of poor black and Hispanic children while filling the coffers of the Democratic Party machine which keeps their oppression going.

But progressives never stop for a moment to look at the horrors they have wrought.”

[…]

“So one rule for conservatives should be this: Don’t be so polite. When progressives propose their progressive solutions, remind them of the hell they have inflicted on the people they claim to want to help — gays, blacks, Hispanics, children. And that’s just for starters.”
