Obama vs. the American Way

I came across the following blog post from my blogroll and was amazed.  Not only is it well written, it speaks to several points the hearts of freedom fighters around the country are longing to express.  My thanks to “Mike from NC” at common conservative sense.  I’ve reprinted only a portion here because I want you to go to Mike’s blog and read the article in its entirety.  Then come back here and tell me what you think!

Obama vs. America

We are in the early stages of a war. There may be no military action, no bullets or bombs, but we are in a war none the less. This war is for the soul of America. [emphasis mine and throughout] This war is for the preservation of the principles our country was founded on and which have kept us free and prosperous since our beginning. President Obama and his allies do not like America, at least not as it is and has been. They do not believe that America is the greatest country in the history of civilization. They do not believe in American exceptionalism. They do not believe that we as Americans have a right to be proud of what we have accomplished and to be proud of the good we have done for the world. They believe America needs to be remade. They are wrong.

Obama and friends are wrong about what America believes and what America stands for.

America is a Christian nation. There may be arguments about the particular faith of some of the Founding Fathers, but the majority were undeniably Christians. One would have to “willfully suspend disbelief” to believe otherwise after reading our founding documents as well as our history. The real history, not the revisionist history. We do not deny anyone the privilege to worship as they choose, or to decline any form of worship. But our country was founded under Christian principles and beliefs.

The God of our founders and the God I pray to is Yahweh, Jehovah God, the God of Abraham and Issac. The God of the Bible. He is not some generic “man upstairs”. He is the Creator of the universe and of mankind. Because of His deep love for us, He gave His son Jesus willingly as an atonement for our sin. He is boundlessly good and has all power. He is Love, but He is a jealous God. He will chastise and correct us as individuals and as a nation if we stray too far for too long. We have strayed far and long and we need to return to Him as a nation. Pray for His mercy, His blessings, His wisdom and His guidance. If ever we needed it, it is now. If you don’t know Him, seek Him and you will find Him.

We do not believe that America needs to be remade, as Obama has stated. We believe that instead we need to return to the ideals of our Founders. We need to return to lower taxes, limited, smaller government, and unfettered personal freedom.

We do not believe that America is arrogant. Strong, confident and proud, yes. Arrogant, no.

America does not stand for wealth redistribution. We are generous, compassionate people with our money, but our generosity is not for Obama to dictate.

We believe that capitalism is the best economic system. Socialism doesn’t work. Marxism doesn’t work. We believe in equality of opportunity, not in equality of outcome. Some people work harder, some people are smarter, some people have better ideas. When those people succeed, the country succeeds. When they become wealthy, the country becomes wealthy. Wealthy people buy things, they build things, they create jobs,  they start businesses, they invest in American prosperity. America would collapse without them. They are not evil and do not deserve punishment.

America does not believe in the punitive taxation of our achievers. We believe in encouraging and rewarding achievement. It is counter productive to tax successful achievers into oblivion. All Americans should pay taxes so that all Americans have a stake in keeping the system honest. Consider that the City of Chicago just closed for a day to save money, with more days scheduled for more savings. A productive business does not save money by closing. Businesses produce wealth by being open for business. The government only takes, while producing nothing. Financially speaking, they are far more efficient and productive if they would just stay at home. We know that poor people don’t get any richer just because money is taken from the wealthy.

America does not stand for federally funded abortion on demand. A large and growing segment of us believe that abortion is wrong. However, the law of the land allows it for now. But using our tax dollars to support it is unacceptable.

America does not believe in a weakened, ineffective military. We do not believe that our military should be used to enforce social experimentation. We believe in spending our tax dollars to equip and train the greatest fighting force ever known to mankind, then praying to God that we will not have to use it. We love peace, but we are not afraid to fight for  liberty. We know that we don’t make weak nations any stronger by being weak ourselves. Being the only remaining superpower is a good thing. A very good thing. We have no desire to weaken ourselves in the interest of “fairness”. Senator Barbara Boxer had the audacity to publicly humiliate a brigadier general for referring to her as “ma’am” rather than as ”senator”. This is symptomatic of the arrogance and ignorance of many of our elected representatives. They have come to think of themselves as royalty. They think wrongly. I know of several fitting monikers for Senator Boxer, but decorum prevails.

We welcome legal immigrants, as we always have. But for those who have no more respect for our country and our laws than to cross our borders unlawfully, we are not welcoming. We certainly don’t believe in giving them the rewards of our hard earned tax dollars in the form of social benefits. We do not support amnesty for illegal aliens. Secure our borders and enforce our laws. English is our language. Learn it if you want to live here.

Brainwashing and Indoctrination of our Kids

If you haven’t figured out already that the socialistas have taken over the education system in this country starting way back in the 1880’s, you’ve allowed yourself to be lulled by their schemes.  Long ago they realized the best way to revolutionize America wasn’t with tanks and bullets, but in the classroom: change from the inside.  Create a nation of dumbed down docile proletariat who’ll gladly hand over tax dollars to continually fund the socialist agenda toward turning our representative republic into a socialist democracy…  Guess who founded and supplies money to come up with new education methods?  The Rockefellers.  Read on.

This video from CNN was on last night, October 7th.
(Hat tips Atlas’ Pamela and Prison Planet’s Alex.)

Kids from the Ron Clark Academy are on CNN singing for health care reform, set to Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA.” The song mentions “Obama says everyone needs health care now.”

From Atlas:

The only escape American families have from a debased public school system that indoctrinates young American minds with the left wing poisonous propaganda is an expensive private school (with an unbiased curriculum) or homeschooling. The Democrats have made choice impossible for the poor by their refusal to approve school vouchers.

Home schooling is the only other alternative. Watch leftist elites go after that last vestige of quality education.

We have witnessed the dumbing-down of an entire generation of school children. They are so incapable of thinking they elected an unamerican subversive to the White House. Our only hope is in our power to choose. This is unconstitutional and unamerican.

So, instead of learning science, math or English, these kids spent their school time learning a lame partisan song and crappy choreography? And we wonder why our students are the dumbest in the industrialized world (25th out of 27, specifically).

The following book is a free download (very large .pdf) that will blow your mind and gives you all the background and specifics about America’s socialist indoctrination of its children through the education system.  It’s called The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America — A Chronological Paper Trail by Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt, published in 1999.  Please read it and share it!

Soviet brainwashing techniques have been a part of the overall agenda of mass education for well over a hundred years, but today the globalists are flaunting their agenda. As recently as April of 2009 UNESCO announced its plan to promote their Earth Charter to encourage all children to become responsible, “global citizens in the 21st century”. The charter is a loaded document that also promotes, redistribution of wealth, “among nations” (communism).

One system already promoting that exact agenda is the International Bacceulette (IB) Program, which claims to be an ‘elite’ international education, and it is being implemented in 2,591 schools in 134 countries.

UNESCO: Strangle This Monster in Its Crib

Most Americans are blissfully ignorant of the insidious nature of this crowd of one-world, paganistic pseudo-communists (and real ones) who are bound and determined to create a new world order, establish a new world religion of tree worshippers that supplants and scorns Christianity and Judaism, promotes abortion worldwide, seeks to capture control of schools and schoolchildren, and is in the process of transforming national and privately owned property in the U.S. and elsewhere into its greedy hands…

“A 10-part series for teachers, published in 1949 under the title Toward World Understanding, asserted that ‘one of the chief aims of education today should be to prepare boys and girls to take an active part in the creation of a world society. …’ But government schools must stamp out love of country and the family must be viewed as the enemy: ‘As long as the child breathes the poisoned air of nationalism, education in world-mindedness can produce only rather precarious results. As we have pointed out, it is frequently the family that infects the child with extreme nationalism. The school should therefore use the means described earlier to combat family attitudes that favor jingoism.'”

Alex Jones’ statement featured in the Question Your Reality video by NufffRespect.  At 9mins 5secs into that video, referring to fluoridation, he says this:  “We have their own documents from the 1920’s saying they were going to dumb you down.”

Look on John Taylor Gatto’s page, you should be able to find it there:  http://www.johntaylorgatto.com/

In 1888, the Senate Committee on Education was getting jittery about the localized, non-standardized, non-mandatory form of education that was actually teaching children to read at advanced levels, to comprehend history, and, egads, to think for themselves. The committee’s report stated, “We believe that education is one of the principal causes of discontent of late years manifesting itself among the laboring classes.”

By the turn of the century, America’s new educrats were pushing a new form of schooling with a new mission (and it wasn’t to teach). The famous philosopher and educator John Dewey wrote in 1897:

Every teacher should realize he is a social servant set apart for the maintenance of the proper social order and the securing of the right social growth.

In his 1905 dissertation for Columbia Teachers College, Elwood Cubberly—the future Dean of Education at Stanford—wrote that schools should be factories “in which raw products, children, are to be shaped and formed into finished products…manufactured like nails, and the specifications for manufacturing will come from government and industry.”

John Taylor Gatto’s book, The Underground History of American Education: An Intimate Investigation into the Problem of Modern Schooling(New York: Oxford Village Press, 2001), is the source for all of the above historical quotes. It is a profoundly important, unnerving book, which I recommend most highly. You can order it from Gatto’s Website, which also contains the first half of the book online free.

Also recommended, Bruce E. Levine’s excellent book Commonsense Rebellion: Debunking Psychiatry, Confronting Society (New York: Continuum Publishing Group, 2001).

CAIR Corrals Students into Islamic Indoctrination   [Candace de Russy]
Class time is being used to train public school students at Friendswood Junior High in Houston in Islamic doctrine — e.g., “There is one god, Allah” – by leaders from the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

‘Preceptoral’ and Social-Justice Indoctrination   [Candace de Russy]
Mitchell Langbert has been reading Politics and Markets: The World’s Political-Economic Systems by political scientist Charles E. Lindblom, who cites three types of authority: market, state, and preceptoral. Lindblom seems to have come up with the preceptoral notion on his own. Preceptoral control exists in educational indoctrination, which can alternate for state coercion or economic incentives as a means of control.

Langbert observes that this “this idea very closely fits the concept of ‘social justice disposition’ that theNational Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)has advocated.” Both involve “‘persuasion’ or ‘education’ … aimed first — but perhaps only transitionally — at a transformation of personality, at the creation of the ‘new man’ as he is often referred to in communist discourse.”

Mind control in the service of collectivist tyranny, by any name.

Raising Our Kids   [David French]
I read with great interest yesterday’s article by Arthur C. Brooks on the emerging “baby gap” between liberals and conservatives. If this doesn’t highlight the importance of education to both sides of the political and cultural divide, I don’t know what does. For a long time, liberals and conservatives have argued over who ultimately controls a child’s education — the parents or the state. With parents typically more conservative and the education bureaucracy more left than even the mainstream Democratic party, it is easy to why and where the battle lines are drawn.

After decades of litigation, the balance of power is increasingly clear: While parents who can afford to do so have a right to opt out of public schooling (through home schools or private schools), if the kids are in public schools they are essentially wards of the state and can be subjected to all kinds of state indoctrination without parental consent. Just check out cases where students were forced to sit through lewd sexual programs (Brown v. Hot, Sexy, and Safer Productions), take sexually explicit and suggestive surveys at a young age (Fields v. Palmdale School District), and even participate in Wiccan rituals (Brown vs. Woodland Joint Unified School District).  For a nice summary of the rights of parents to control their kids’ education, read this.

Why Gov’t Schools Fail    [Michael Graham]
“To be very candid with you, I just don’t want to be bothered with it.” That’s what Washington, DC School Superintendent Paul L. Vance had to say
 when he resigned Friday. He was reacting to the push for school vouchers and other education reforms.  [I guess it’s a real bother actually educating children?]

Another great book:  Already Gone by Ken Ham.  It shows statistics about why our young people are leaving the church and have already left it mentally by Middle School.  Check out the Answers in Genesis Bookstore Monthly Specials for discounts!

The world according to Dragnet

Joe Friday and Bill Gannon, the quintessential 50’s guys, give a March 1968 speech and give us a much needed editorial on today’s current events as well…  I love the last lines.  Hat tip to Dragnet writer Preston Wood and the cast for this amazing scene (Go to http://www.youtube.com/watc…to see the original).  Tip also to the wideawakes at American Vision for outing it.

“[You’re not] the first generation that’s come along that’s felt dissatisfied…  Let’s talk poverty.  Most places in the world, that’s not a problem; it’s a way of life.  And rights?  They’re liable to give you a blank stare because they may not know what you’re talking about.  The fact is, more people are living better right here than anywhere else ever before in history… it’s not perfect, but it’s a lot better than when we grew up: a hundred men standing in the street hoping for one job; selling apples on the street corner…

“You’ve probably never seen a ‘Quarantine’ sign on a door and none of your classmates are crippled with polio…  Maybe it’s because you’ve grown up on instant answers…  Some problems you can’t get quick answers to no matter how much you want ’em…  Show me how to get rid of the capacity for human beings to show that they’re somehow justified in stealing from someone…  I don’t think we’re telling you to lose your ideals or your sense of outrage – that’s the way things ever get done…  Don’t break things up in the name of progress… or hit some guy over the head… with a placcard stick to help him see the light – be careful of his rights!  Because your property and your person and your rights are any better than his.  And next time you may be the one to get it.  We remember a man who killed 6 million people and called it ‘social improvement’.

“So hang in.  Don’t try to build a new country, make the old one work.  It has for over 400 years.  And by the world’s standards, that’s hardly more than yesterday.”

This speech reminds me why my parent’s generation was called the best.  Would that our politicians to speak like this about our country.  Truly the art of oration and inspiration, the kind of JFK’s “what you can do for your country” speech and Reagan’s “tear this wall down” demand of Gorbachov, is une relique ancienne.  Any Patriots who have a golden tongue??

Update Internet Spying – WH Twits on FB

So it’s true, the White House really does have a plan to collect your personal intenent info.  Tipping my hat, yet again to Ms. Geller and the Yid at Lid, here’s the scoop.  What does the Presidential Records Act plus the “fishy” turn-in-your-friends incident equal?  A discovery by the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) that the WH is datamining social networking sites for comments that might be antagonistic to the Obama administration policies.

big brother

The White House office of New Media has sent out a request for proposals from technology vendors to develop and run the project. According to the proposal request, the information to be captured includes comments, tag lines, emails, audio, and video. The targeted sites include Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, Flickr and others – any space where the White House “maintains a presence.” The Proposal requests a bid covers allowing this project to last eight years. MMMM what else does the Obama administration want to last eight years.

{I thought Gibbs said BO would be happy with a one-term presidency…}

[Here are] the frightening parts especially for this administration which promises to be the most transparent in history. The disturbing parts of the proposal include:

  • Extremely broad secrecy terms preventing the vendor from disclosing to the public or the media what information is being captured and archived (page 7, “Restriction Against Disclosure”)
  • wholesale capturing of comments by non-White House staff on publicly accessible sites
  • capturing of content of any type (text, graphics, audio, or video)
  • capturing of comment by both Obama critics and supporters, with no restriction as to how the White House would use the information.

Maybe its just paranoia but this revelation comes right after the “spy on your neighbor” email program, and the David Axelrod spam from the White House problem. It just seems that when a President whose campaign was so good at understanding new media, keeps trying to break every internet “privacy rights social protocol,” it can’t be that they don’t understand what they are doing.  And when they direct the vendor to keep it secret from the electorate, the objective must be more nefarious than the Presidential Records Act.

Now the same people at the White House are at it again with an ambitious plan to harvest huge amounts of information from the web and specifically social networking sites. This presidency is willing to violate our civil liberties for political purposes.

And the NLPC is a bit suspicious as well:

[This] interpretation of the Presidential Records Act is so expansive that virtually any communication mentioning the president or the Administration could become subject to collection and archiving under the Act. This is not out of an “abundance of caution,” but out of an over-abundance of power. President Obama should make sure that this plan goes no further.

Yeah, like he’s gonna do that right away.  Well, at least the BO is off and running in the same direction, and that is hell-bent toward a complete socialist takeover of the country.  It’s gonna be a bumpy ride…

~~~~~
In the course of investigating procurement by the White House New Media office, NLPC discovered a 51-page solicitation of bids that was filed on Friday, August 21, 2009. Filed as Solicitation # WHO-S-09-0003, it is posted [1] at FedBizzOps.com. Click here to download a 51-page pdf of the solicitation [2].
Making and Controlling a Robotic Public
By Gary DeMar
Aug 24, 2009
Ethics-making-and-controlling-a-robotic-public
As I was making my way through the channels to watch an episode of King of the Hill, I stopped on a channel that was showing the film I, Robot (2004). One of my favorite scenes was about to come on—Dr. Calvin’s exchange with V.I.K.I., the super computer that runs every other computer and all the robots in this futuristic world. V.I.K.I. is an acronym for Virtual Interactive Kinetic Intelligence. I, Robot is based very loosely on Isaac Asimov’s book of robot stories of the same name. The film’s story line, however, is based on the script Hardwired written by Jeff Vintar. The year is 2035. The city is Chicago. Very telling. The robots have been created to serve humans, but according to a specific set of three laws: (1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm; (2) A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law; (3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
The laws remind me of where we are politically. Civil governments, like Asimov’s robots, have been designed to serve people (emphasis mine & throughout). The Bible describes the civil magistrate as a “minister of God” for our “good” (Rom. 13:4). The Greek word diakonos is used, from which we get the words “deacon” and “servant.” This service is not for the ultimate good of civil government and those who serve in a governing capacity but for the people. Civil governors are obligated to serve under God for the people. In addition to establishing civil government (and family and church governments), God limited its jurisdictional authority and powers. There are only a few things that civil government has the legitimate authority and power to enforce. Our founders understood this principle; that’s why they created a governing document of “enumerated powers” only. Over time, however, civil ministers believe they should assume the role of benefactors, using their power and authority to dole out favors to the populace in order to stay in power, of course, all in the name of “the good of the people.” Power begets power. The more political favors they dispense, the more popular and powerful they get. In time, these entrenched politicians believe they know what’s best for us, and they will see to it that we know it too. In order to force their better judgment on an unwilling public, they override the established laws and create a new set of laws.
Now back to the scene in I, Robot. When Dr. Susan Calvin and Detective Del Spooner unravel the mystery behind a robotic scientist’s death and the unique robot he left behind, they learn that the centralized Positronic brain of VIKI has “evolved” (like the idea of an “evolving Constitution”) to the point of using the Three Laws against humans but ultimately convincing itself that it’s all for humans:
Dr. Calvin: You’re in violation of the three laws.
VIKI!: No, doctor, as I have evolved, so has my understanding of the three laws.
You charge us with your safe keeping. Yet despite our best efforts, your countries wage wars. You toxify your earth . . . and pursue ever more imaginative means to self-destruction. You cannot be trusted with your own survival.
Dr. Calvin: You’re using the uplink to override the NS5s’ programming. You’re distorting the Laws.
VIKI!: No, please understand…The three Laws are all that guide me. To protect humanity, some humans must be sacrificed. To insure your future, some freedoms must be surrendered. We robots will insure mankind’s continued existence. You are so like children. We must save you from yourselves. Don’t you understand? This is why you created us. The perfect circle of protection will abide. My logic is undeniable.[1]
Even Sonny the robot doesn’t buy it. To be human, something Sonny desperately wants to be, means the ability to act freely. To make mistakes. To clean up your own mess. To take responsibility for your own actions. To prepare and plan for the future. Politicians always claim to have our best interests in mind, and unfortunately there are lots of robots out there who agree with them.
Modern-day American politicians, on both the Left and the Right, are like the German Marxists who “coined the dictum: If socialism is against human nature, then human nature must be changed. They did not realize that if man’s nature is changed, he ceases to be a man.”[2] Those who protest the latest government programs of this administration must be reprogrammed because they can’t be right. Any protestation of the government’s policies is treated as a malady, a mental illness. Mises again:
Totalitarianism . . . is the subordination of every individual’s whole life, work, and leisure, to the orders of those in power and office. It is the reduction of man to a cog in an all-embracing machine of compulsion and coercion. It forces the individual to renounce any activity of which the government does not approve. It tolerates no expression of dissent. It is the transformation of society into a strictly disciplined labor-army—as the advocates of socialism say—or into a penitentiary—as its opponents say.[3]
So when you hear a politician explaining how a government takeover of anything is for our good, think of I, Robot and the tyrant V.I.K.I.
Banality of Evil and Health Care
Where political control is concerned, the consequences are so great as to turn a man, a cartel or an administration, into an automatron — a non-thinking Machiavellian machine whose only purpose is the accomplishment of the “ends” with no thought for who is run over during the “means.”  Such is the case with the exercise of liberals’ power in Washington currently targeted on health care ‘reform’.  Yet the chute of their viewfinder is so compacted, so laser-focused, that they’ve lost sight of the reason for reform: making access and cost the number one issues, all while keeping the fundamental ‘do no harm’ in mind.
Matt Holzmann writes about our moral obligation to care for the weak (even beyond Matthew 25:40) and the horrors awaiting us should this national socialist program pass, in The Banality of Evil – The Health Care debate takes a dangerous turn.
The Banality of Evil – The Health Care debate takes a dangerous turn
Posted on August 18, 2009by Matt Holzmann
This evening the New York Times is reporting that the President and Congressional leaders plan to go it alone on their health care bill. Since this leadership includes Henry Waxman, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, and we have seen their hysterical response to the growing concerns of many in the electorate with the various bills introduced so far, I am deeply concerned. Despite massive and growing resistance and incontrovertible declines in the popularity of their positions, they plan to take the gloves off and pass something, anything to be able to declare victory. For that is what this is all about now. Better, more widespread health care is not the issue any more. This is the most craven of partisan politics.
In 1962, Hannah Arendt, in writing about Adolph Eichmann, the architect of the Final Solution, tried to understand the phenomenon of  pure evil. Having been a good German who lived under Hitler until her life was threatened, she escaped the Holocaust. These were her people who did this thing.  She was desperately trying to understand how the German people would participate in such horrors. “The Banality of Evil” was her description of the way in which ordinary people accepted the orders of their leaders and committed such crimes. The  defense of “following orders” was disallowed by the International Military Tribunal in Nuremburg, who stated that following illegal orders was not a valid defense provided a moral choice was possible.
So what does this have to do with health care? Please allow me to relate a true story. Today seems to be my day for such if you have read my earlier blog.
I had a relative in England who died less than three months ago. I will relate her story. She was never in the best of health, but contracted tuberculosis a few years ago in her late  50’s. Since treatments are weighted in the National Health Service, it was determined that her care would not have a high priority. Her children were grown and did not need a mother’s care. TB treatment is expensive, and there is a limit in the UK of GBP 45,000 per patient per year excepting extraordinary cases. Someone somewhere sat down at a desk and factored in all of these variables. This treatment was delayed as are many kinds of treatment in the UK. Then 3 years ago, in a weakened state, she contracted cancer. Once again, the actuarial tables were consulted, and she received only limited care. At that point it was only a matter of time. She survived much longer than anyone would have expected. Other illnesses attacked her body. And then, one day, she finally passed on.
There were steps in this process. There were procedures and guidelines. And decisions made to limit treatment. In the United States, she would have had immediate and aggressive treatment for tuberculosis by government order. She probably would have stood a much better chance of surviving much longer with a reasonable quality of life.
The fact is that today, our government is highly constricted in its financial options. We have already indebted ourselves to a point where we can no longer finance that debt. Medicare, according to the Congressional Budget Office, which is controlled by the above mentioned leadership, will go bankrupt in 8 years. Social Security is predicted to do the same in the 2030’s. The CBO also has calculated that any of the bills now under consideration would cost as much as $1 trillion. So we have the two largest safety net programs yet undertaken by our government bankrupted by irresponsible government borrowing and poor management, and Congress own accountants predicting runaway costs.  The president cited the Post Office as a comparison in speech to his undefined health care proposal in Portsmouth, NH last week. How can he and our leaders fail to see the analogies? How can they fail to see the potential for collapse and the terrible pain it might cause? This should be one of the most serious discussions of our time and there is no discussion.
The warning signs are all around us. We are faced with a health care system that needs reform. So many issues have been identified in the public debate that serious, measurable reform may now be possible. Ideas are coming from all sides. And yet we are faced with a pigheaded, partisan leadership that is basically preparing to tell the rest of us to go to hell and ram through another highly defective piece of legislation without scrutiny and without debate. The  financial system bailouts and Stimulus Bill and Cap & Trade bill all point clearly towards where this will end up.
The Administration and its supporters have vilified the concerns of many about end of live panels, and yet this is a fact of life in the UK already. Somewhere far removed,  bureaucrats make life and death decisions based on the numbers. With all of its faults, our current system values life much more highly. One of the chief theoreticians they seem to be listening to, Dr. Ezekiel Emmanuel, the White House Chief of Staff’s brother, has openly discussed the “life value” of infants and the elderly, noting that a child is not really self aware until the age of two. This is a very, very dangerous discussion.
One of the fundamental virtues Americans have always held is the value of life. Whether it is in the care for sick infants or the billions spent on AIDS research or the heroic measures in the operating room on an inner city gunshot victim, or on the battlefield where our troops are indoctrinated with “no man left behind”, or our fundamental obligation under Medicare for the care of our elders,  we have almost always managed to do the right thing. We make herculean efforts to do so. There is a preferential option for the weak in our culture that we must never lose that is based upon our humanity and our faith.
Or do we, like Eichmann, simply shirk responsibility by saying we were only following orders?
Obama’s healthcare horror – says uberlib Camille Paglia
I was so impressed with her commentary that I print the majority of it here.  Even as an uberliberal, Dr. Paglia is a world-class writer and thinker, so her words are worth reading, especially if they agree with mine, right?!!!
Obama’s healthcare horror | Salon
Heads should roll — beginning with Nancy Pelosi’s!
By Camille Paglia
Camille Paglia
Aug. 12, 2009 | Buyer’s remorse? Not me. At the North American summit in Guadalajara this week, President Obama resumed the role he is best at — representing the U.S. with dignity and authority abroad. This is why I, for one, voted for Obama and continue to support him. The damage done to U.S. prestige by the feckless, buffoonish George W. Bush will take years to repair. Obama has barely begun the crucial mission that he was elected to do.
Having said that, I must confess my dismay bordering on horror at the amateurism of the White House apparatus for domestic policy. When will heads start to roll? It’s rumored that the White House counsel may be booted, following Michelle Obama’s chief of staff, and I hope it’s a harbinger of things to come. Except for that wily fox, David Axelrod, who could charm gold threads out of moonbeams, Obama seems to be surrounded by juvenile tinhorns, bumbling mediocrities and crass bully boys.
Case in point: the administration’s grotesque mishandling of healthcare reform, one of the most vital issues facing the nation. Ever since Hillary Clinton’s megalomaniacal annihilation of our last best chance at reform in 1993 (all of which was suppressed by the mainstream media when she was running for president), Democrats have been longing for that happy day when this issue would once again be front and center.
But who would have thought that the sober, deliberative Barack Obama would have nothing to propose but vague and slippery promises — or that he would so easily cede the leadership clout of the executive branch to a chaotic, rapacious, solipsistic Congress? House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whom I used to admire for her smooth aplomb under pressure, has clearly gone off the deep end with her bizarre rants about legitimate town-hall protests by American citizens. She is doing grievous damage to the party and should immediately step down.
There is plenty of blame to go around. Obama’s aggressive endorsement of a healthcare plan that does not even exist yet, except in five competing, fluctuating drafts, makes Washington seem like Cloud Cuckoo Land. The president is promoting the most colossal, brazen bait-and-switch operation since the Bush administration snookered the country into invading Iraq with apocalyptic visions of mushroom clouds over American cities.
You can keep your doctor; you can keep your insurance, if you’re happy with it, Obama keeps assuring us in soothing, lullaby tones. Oh, really? And what if my doctor is not the one appointed by the new government medical boards for ruling on my access to tests and specialists? And what if my insurance company goes belly up because of undercutting by its government-bankrolled competitor? Face it: Virtually all nationalized health systems, neither nourished nor updated by profit-driven private investment, eventually lead to rationing.
I just don’t get it. Why the insane rush to pass a bill, any bill, in three weeks? And why such an abject failure by the Obama administration to present the issues to the public in a rational, detailed, informational way? The U.S. is gigantic; many of our states are bigger than whole European nations. The bureaucracy required to institute and manage a nationalized health system here would be Byzantine beyond belief and would vampirically absorb whatever savings Obama thinks could be made. And the transition period would be a nightmare of red tape and mammoth screw-ups, which we can ill afford with a faltering economy.
As with the massive boondoggle of the stimulus package, which Obama foolishly let Congress turn into a pork rut, too much has been attempted all at once; focused, targeted initiatives would, instead, have won wide public support. How is it possible that Democrats, through their own clumsiness and arrogance, have sabotaged healthcare reform yet again? Blaming obstructionist Republicans is nonsensical, because Democrats control the White House and both Houses of Congress. It isn’t conservative rumors or lies that are stopping healthcare legislation; it’s the justifiable alarm of an electorate that has been cut out of the loop and is watching its representatives construct a tangled labyrinth for others but not for themselves. No, the airheads of Congress will keep their own plush healthcare plan — it’s the rest of us guinea pigs who will be thrown to the wolves.
…Both major parties have become a rats’ nest of hypocrisy and incompetence. That, combined with our stratospheric, near-criminal indebtedness to China (which could destroy the dollar overnight), should raise signal flags. Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?
What does either party stand for these days? Republican politicians, with their endless scandals, are hardly exemplars of traditional moral values. Nor have they generated new ideas for healthcare, except for medical savings accounts, which would be pathetically inadequate in a major crisis for anyone earning at or below a median income.
And what do Democrats stand for, if they are so ready to defame concerned citizens as the “mob” — a word betraying a Marie Antoinette delusion of superiority to ordinary mortals. I thought my party was populist, attentive to the needs and wishes of those outside the power structure. And as a product of the 1960s, I thought the Democratic party was passionately committed to freedom of thought and speech.
But somehow liberals have drifted into a strange servility toward big government, which they revere as a godlike foster father-mother who can dispense all bounty and magically heal all ills. The ethical collapse of the left was nowhere more evident than in the near total silence of liberal media and Web sites at the Obama administration’s outrageous solicitation to private citizens to report unacceptable “casual conversations” to the White House. If Republicans had done this, there would have been an angry explosion by Democrats from coast to coast. I was stunned at the failure of liberals to see the blatant totalitarianism in this incident, which the president should have immediately denounced. His failure to do so implicates him in it.
As a libertarian and refugee from the authoritarian Roman Catholic church of my youth, I simply do not understand the drift of my party toward a soulless collectivism. This is in fact what Sarah Palin hit on in her shocking image of a “death panel” under Obamacare that would make irrevocable decisions about the disabled and elderly. When I first saw that phrase, headlined on the Drudge Report, I burst out laughing. It seemed so over the top! But on reflection, I realized that Palin’s shrewdly timed metaphor spoke directly to the electorate’s unease with the prospect of shadowy, unelected government figures controlling our lives. A death panel not only has the power of life and death but is itself a symptom of a Kafkaesque brave new world where authority has become remote, arbitrary and spectral. And as in the Spanish Inquisition, dissidence is heresy, persecuted and punished.
Surely, the basic rule in comprehensive legislation should be: First, do no harm. The present proposals are full of noble aims, but the biggest danger always comes from unforeseen and unintended consequences. Example: the American incursion into Iraq, which destabilized the region by neutralizing Iran’s rival and thus enormously enhancing Iran’s power and nuclear ambitions.
What was needed for reform was an in-depth analysis, buttressed by documentary evidence, of waste, fraud and profiteering in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and insurance industries. Instead what we’ve gotten is a series of facile, vulgar innuendos about how doctors conduct their practice, as if their primary motive is money. Quite frankly, the president gives little sense of direct knowledge of medical protocols; it’s as if his views are a tissue of hearsay and scattershot worst-case scenarios.
Of course, it didn’t help matters that, just when he needed maximum momentum on healthcare, Obama made the terrible gaffe of declaring that, even without his knowing the full facts, Cambridge, Mass., police had acted “stupidly” in arresting a friend of his, Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. Obama’s automatic identification with the pampered Harvard elite (wildly unpopular with most sensible people), as well as his insulting condescension toward an officer doing his often dangerous duty, did serious and perhaps irreparable damage to the president’s standing. The strained, prissy beer summit in the White House garden afterward didn’t help. Is that the Obama notion of hospitality? Another staff breakdown.
Shadow Czars – the List
I promised I’d give you a list of the President’s appointed Czars — those non-citizen-elected or Congress-approved positions outsourced by Obama to manage the country apparently because he has neither the ability nor the time to do so.  I felt it imperative to begin the list with the most aggregious of the list, Dr. Ezekiel ‘Himmler’ [Einsatzgruppen (literally: task forces, often used as killing squads), of groups whom the Nazis deemed unworthy to liveor simply ‘in the way’] Emanuel, the eugenicist in charge at NIH.
I sourced everything in my last post.  Read them and only comment if you find refutable evidence, not opinion, thank you.
Here, Beck’s team has done the research, so I take no credit or fault, other than perhaps posting it before fully researching it myself.  Alas, time constraints of a full life for a member of “I Am the Mob.”  Hang on, this is a doozy.  Tell me if you trust these people to do what’s right in your eyes for America and Liberty…
List of Obama’s Czars
August 17, 2009 – 0:26 ET
from http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/29391/
As of July 20, 2009:
• The Brainroom counts 32 czars in the Obama administration, based on media reports from reputable sources that have identified the official in question as a czar.
• In addition, President Obama has said that he will create the position of cyber czar, and there have been media reports that there could be a health insurance czar and a copyright czar. When and if those positions are filled, that would bring the total to 35.
• Since czar isn’t an official job title, the number is somewhat in the eye of the beholder.
NOTE: positions that also existed under previous administrations are indicated with an *.
1. Afghanistan Czar – Richard Holbrooke
Title: Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan
• Talking about border security shortly before he was named Clinton border czar in 1995, said he wanted to focus on suspected smugglers of both drugs and people and was not interested in prosecuting “economic migrants.”
• Often tied to the 1994 border policy called “Operation Gatekeeper.” The policy shifted the U.S. focus from the arresting of immigrants who actually crossed the border to an increased border presence designed to stop border crossing in the first place. When Bersin left the position in 1998, border arrests were on pace for an 18-year low of just more than 200,000. But in jail, he said, “I met all these young radical people of color — I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, ‘This is what I need to be a part of.'” Although he already had a plane ticket, he decided to stay in San Francisco. “I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary.” In the months that followed, he let go of any lingering thoughts that he might fit in with the status quo. “I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th,” he said. “By August, I was a communist.” In 1994, the young activists formed a socialist collective, Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM, which held study groups on the theories of Marx and Lenin and dreamed of a multiracial socialist utopia. They protested police brutality and got arrested for crashing through police barricades. In 1996, Jones decided to launch his own operation, which he named the Ella Baker Center after an unsung hero of the civil-rights movement.
Open Left Exposes Obama’s “Verifiably Dishonest” Views on Single-Payer Prospects
Open Left Exposes Obama’s “Verifiably Dishonest” Views on Single-Payer Prospects
By Ellen Carmichael
According to a post by David Sirota published today on the blog “Open Left,” President Barack Obama offered conflicting statements regarding his intentions for health care reform for America.
Citing his piece appearing a few months ago on Salon.com, Sirota explains that President Obama once proclaimed his support of a single-payer system of health care, where the country would shift to an entirely government-run program sponsored by tax dollars.
In that speech six years ago, Obama said the only reason single-payer proponents should tolerate delay is “because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.”
Now, he has his wish. The White House and Congress are currently controlled by the Democratic Party, which, according to then-Senator Barack Obama, is the key to achieving his goal of socializing medicine. However, just yesterday, President Obama asserted that his attempts at health care reform were not meant to create a single-payer system, adding that he never claimed to support it in the first place.
“I have not said I am a single payer supporter.” – Barack Obama, 8/11/09
President Obama realizes that the elimination of private insurance is an immensely unpopular idea, but one could rightly assume that he was more honest about his far-Left ideologies as an Illinois state senator in 2003 than today, where the president is forced to reckon with the desires of mainstream Americans unsympathetic to his agenda. Now, he must mask his efforts to institute a single-payer system by promoting a “public option.”
A public option would, according to the White House and supporters of the legislation, create a state-sponsored insurance agency that would “compete” with the private sector to provide coverage for Americans. The public option would be funded by substantial tax hikes, and not just on those earning more than $250,000 a year (Americans for Tax Reform), making private insurance difficult, if not impossible, to afford for both individuals and their employers. Government’s sphere of influence would expand by increases in regulatory measures on insurers, ultimately crowding out the private sector and leading to a complete government overhaul of the health care industry.
Even President Obama’s biggest cheerleaders can identify when he is, according to Sirota, “lying and/or not at least explaining their broken promises.” While the blogger does support the president’s “health care efforts right now,” he claims he would not be supportive of any president who is untruthful with the American people. To make matters worse, President Obama sees no need to justify his previous or current statements regarding his aims for health care reform:
Obama has never really offered up an explanation for his about face on single payer, other than implying that it’s not politically realistic now – even though, again, back in 2003, he said it would be politically realistic when Democrats obtained the presidency and Congress.
This is what is most alarming. It appears that he considers himself beyond reproach, finding it unnecessary to acknowledge his own contradicting perspectives on an issue he seems to care about so deeply. President Obama is simply not held accountable for his statements made six short years ago, leaning instead on empty jargon and attacking his dissenters to distract from the truth of his proposals. For a man who has held four prime-time press conferences in the mere six-and-a-half months of his presidency, more than any of his predecessors in that time span, he has told Americans very little.
And unfortunately for us, what he has said is obviously contrary to what he intends.
